REVIEW : Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask & Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint in Shiraz Red

First of all, I'd like to apologize as I've been extremely inactive and that doesn't just apply to blogging but for all my other social media accounts as well.

The life of a pharmacy student so hectic, seriously.

However, I'm having my mid-semester break right now so I have some time on my hands to blog.

BBCosmetic has kindly and generously sent me some products to review and it is the

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask (boy, that's a mouthful eyy?)

and also the

Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint in Shiraz Red

Also, please note that eventhough these products were sent to me, I will be giving my full and honest review.

So, let's begin!

Chateau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint in Shiraz Red

Of course, the number one thing that everyone raved about this product was the packaging.

It is extremely cute!

I mean, who doesn't like a lip tint in the shape of a wine bottle?

Each shade is also named after a wine. The shade I got is the Shiraz Red.

There are 5 other shades - Merlot Burgundy, Nebbiolo Red, Chardonnay Orange, Rose Coral and Blush Pink.

Just for the sake of this review, this is my natural lip colour.

It's not really pigmented so

I usually wear my lip tints in more of an ombre effect than the full-covered lip kind.

So with this lip tint, I tried the ombre effect and it was... bad, as you can see.

I found that the colour dries up really fast and you cant really blend it out so there's this harsh line.

It tends to stick onto the inner lips and the cracks on my lips as well.

Because of that, it kinda looks really patchy and not appealing at all.

However, when I tried to apply it as you normally would a lipstick, it wasn't too bad.

The colour is absolutely beautiful and bright.

I'm not used to wearing bright red colours as I usually go for pinks and nudes.

If you have a closer look, you can still see a little bit of patchiness on my lips.

Overall, the colour is great and very pigmented but I don't really like the texture of this product.

With formulas of lip products, different shades actually may have different ingredients so other shades could work better than this one.

Next, is the Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask

So this clay mask comes in your regular tub, but it does win points when it comes to the design.

I mean look at it?

It's a little cute pig wearing a mask. SO CUTE!

One thing I love about this is there's a seal to ensure customers that this product is original.

As we know, there are loads of imitation brands out there for skincare and makeup products.

This mask comes with a spatula, which is great especially for those who care about the cleanliness of the product.

This is the texture of the clay mask.

As you can see, it looks very light and fluffy.

In fact, when you touch the clay, it feels very smooth and almost hard to pick up the product.

It's not like a cream or a gel consistency.

The clay mask starts to bubble very quickly as soon as you apply it on your skin.

One thing I noticed about this, is it smells really good.

I'm not sure what smell it is and it's not overpowering.

It's sort of like a light, faint floral smell and it is beautiful and helps in calming and relaxing.

So the instructions say to massage it into your face with water after a few minutes and wash it off.

It definitely makes your skin feel a lot cleaner, like what all other clay masks do.

I haven't noticed a change in my skin regarding acne or brightness or anything so if you're looking for a clay mask that smells good and is fun to use then this is the product you'd wanna have a look at!

Top 6 Must-Have Beach Essentials for Summer

We're well on our way to summer, with days filled with icy cold drinks & some fun in the sun.

I thought this would be the perfect post for the occasion!

There are certain essentials when it comes to the beach, and of course the most obvious is sunscreen when you're heading to the beach so I won't list that but apart from that, here are my top essentials for this summer of 2016/2017.

1. Round Beach Towel

Gone are the days of using your regular old rectangular towels. These new designs of a circular shape are much more cute!
They come in various sizes with the usual being 150cm in diameter, with lots of space for you to do your thing.
It's pretty big so it's enough to comfortably fit you, and a friend.. or two.
There are many that you can find online, but these are from Epoch Collective Australia.
They have amazing designs, plus all their round towels come with a mini beach duffel bag for protection and making it super convenient for travelling.
Apart from their designs, the towels are made from 100% cotton velour/terry making it as soft as velvet on one side, and super absorbent on the other.

The Aquatic Lotus design was inspired by turquoise waters of Maldives as well as the beautiful lotus flower, a symbol of purity in Bhuddism.

If you love nature-inspired designs but prefer green than blue, the Leilani design would be perfect for you. Leilani, means "heavenly flower" in Hawaiian and this design was inspired by the beautiful tropics of Hawaii, filled with palm trees.

2. AdoreMe's Swimwear - Dallas

Of course, every girl requires a cute and sexy outfit for those unplanned beach trips. With this banded halter bikini, you get a really sexy, sophisticated look from the top while the bottom has cutouts that make it really cute. It comes with a hook and eye back closure and fully adjustable straps.

And if you're up for something a little more fun, I'd suggest Dana, which is basically the same design as Dallas but in a beautiful wine red colour.

3. AdoreMe's Activewear - Danvi

A little bit out of context because not everyone works out on the beach but if you do then this is for you! For everyone else, to go with your new swimsuit (let's be honest, we all get at least one new swimwear every summer!), we've got to hit the gym to workout and get that toned, beach body.

This set comes with a seamless sports bra (with removable cups) and a pair of leggings.

The leggings feature a floral print on the side panels, as well as a sexy side criss cross detail.

Designs like these are my favourite because it's so easy to mix and match the top or the bottom with ones I already have.

They've got many other amazing designs as well when it comes to looking fab when you're working out! So if this design isn't to your tastes, then have a look at their other ones.

4. High Waisted Denim Shorts

These will be one of your staples when it comes to summer fashion. Pair them with any top, especially a bikini top and it would look great!

Almost every single shop will have some high-waisted denim shorts in stock so just pop into a store and choose your favourite!

The best part is it's denim, so it will never go out of style and the more worn out it is, the better it looks!
Don't worry, you won't have to spend money if you don't want to! For all you DIY-ers out there, you can even DIY these shorts with an old pair of jeans!
There are tonnes of tutorials out there, just google them.

5. Mario Badescu's Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater

The ingredients in this facial spray make it perfect as a little pick me up for our skin, especially during the summer when it feels dehydrated and tight.
It's not that bulky, so you can just chuck it in your bag for when you're heading out.
It can also be used to set make-up or even sprayed on dry hair for a little moisture.
This product is amazing, I use it every single day. I like to spritz my face every few hours when I feel the need to freshen up.

6. Aloe Vera Gel

You won't be needing this at the beach, however you'll definitely need this when you get back home.
I decided to add this because this is my holy grail when it comes to sunburns and you will 100% thank me for this.

Aloe vera has a very cooling feeling when applied so it is amazing when it comes to sunburns (which, unfortunately, is a given when it comes to summer).

Aloe vera is one of my absolute favourite ingredients because it is extremely beneficial in so many ways.
Apart from relieving sunburns, it's also great for moisturising the skin without leaving it oily.

My current favourite that I've been using for more than a year is the Nature Republic Soothing & Moisture Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel.

However, you don't necessarily have to get the exact same one. You can use any brand but just make sure it's at least 90% aloe vera gel and not some other ingredient. Another alternative is that you could even cut the aloe vera plant if you have one, and apply it directly on your skin. Of course, using the actual plant would be better because you know it's completely natural.

RECIPE: Green Juice That Doesn't Taste Green For Detox and Glowing Skin (Using a blender)

Ever wanted to try living a healthy lifestyle but don't know where to start?

Well, this is one of the easiest ways I know.

GREEN JUICE

The recommended daily intake of vegetables for adults is 5 - 6 serves.

1 serve is equivalent to about 1 cup of leafy greens/raw salad.

You get tonnes of vegetables and all it's raw nutrients in this green juice.

The best part, it doesn't even taste like green juice!

Proof?

My boyfriend doesn't particularly fancy eating vegetables, but he LOVES this green juice.

Also, not to worry if you don't have a juicer.

NEITHER DO I.

I'll show you how to make this green juice using a blender, it's easy!

This juice contains a mere 5 ingredients.

Kale, cucumber, apples, baby spinach and lemon juice.

Each and every ingredient is packed full of nutrients and vitamins that are really healthy for the body. Here are their health benefits:

Kale - Lowers cholesterol which can reduce risk of heart disease, contains cancer-fighting substances, high in beta-carotene, makes you feel full to help weight loss

Spinach - Helps maintain healthy hair, skin, eyes and strong bones, aids in digestion, lowers risk for heart disease, contains cancer-fighting substances, improves blood glucose control in diabetes

Lemon - Helps with indigestion and constipation, aids in weight loss, helps to detox the body, maintains healthy skin and hair, helps with high blood pressure and respiratory problems

Cucumber - Reduces risk of cancer, supports heart and digestive health, helps to manage stress and maintain healthy weight

Apple - High in fibre and water which makes them filling and aids in weight loss, lowers risk of heart disease, cancer and diabetes, contains prebiotic which promotes good gut bacteria, contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help fight asthma and promote bone health

Ingredients (Serves about 6 - 7 cups)

1 bunch of kale, washed

2 lemons, washed

9 apples, washed

1 bag of baby spinach (about 120g)

1 long cucumber, washed

Method

Chop the kale, apples and cucumber into small chunks to fit into blender.

For this amount of ingredients, I had to blend in two batches so divide ingredients into two and add into blender.
Squeeze the lemon above your opened palms so catch any falling seeds.

Add a little bit of water to ease blending.

Try not to add too much water or the juice will be diluted.

Blend for 2 - 3 minutes until you get a smoothie-like consistency.

At this point, you get a green smoothie and you can even drink it as it is!

But I prefer it in juice form just cause it's easier to drink.

So, pass it through a sieve..

And you'll end up with the pupl, which is all the fibres from the vegetables

Usually, people throw these out but there are lots of good nutrients and vitamins in them as well.

There are loads of recipes online showing you how you can use the vegetable fibres.

I've tried one of them, and threw the vegetable fibre into some pancake batter.

You end up with green pancakes, but it tasted great.

It was hard to believe that the pancakes were actually healthy!

After passing all the green "smoothie" through the sieve, you'll end up with GREEN JUICE.

There you have it!

Pretty simple and a great, easy way to start a healthy lifestyle.

Just a tip, since this green juice is fresh, you should store it in the fridge and for no longer than 2 - 3 days.
By the 3rd day, you'll notice the juice isn't a vibrant green anymore but has oxidised slightly into a green-ish brown.

Also, it is advised to store fresh juice in glass bottles as there are no chemicals in glass bottles.

I use my VOSS water bottles to store my green juice and its perfect, because VOSS bottles look so simple and cute!

In case you were wondering why I still had leftover Kale, that's because I saved some for my bunnies ;)

Life With Audrey DIY Turmeric Face Mask for Clear Bright Acne Blemish Free Skin

Well, this DIY face mask is for you.

It works amazing against acne, blemishes, dark circles, anti-aging and many more.

The best part, is you probably already have all the ingredients in your kitchen.

If you don't, fret not because you can probably find it in your regular supermarket.

An easy DIY face mask that's packed with all these ingredients is sure to target many skin problems all at once.

You can probably find many versions of this online, but this is usually how I do mine.

What you need:

1/4 tbsp Turmeric

1/4 tbsp Rice flour

1 tbsp Plain, unsweetened yogurt

1/4 Lemon, juiced

This is the main ingredients for your mask. You can add other ingredients as well such as honey, or milk.
I decided to add some tea tree gel this time, since I didn't have tea tree oil.

Life With Audrey Thursday Plantation Tea Tree Gel

Tea Tree: Well-known antibacterial that works great against acne

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl/container.
(Keep this in the fridge, this amount is usually enough to last me for about 5 days)

Remember to thoroughly remove any makeup and wash your face.
You wanna start off with a clean face so your skin can easily absorb all the nutrients.
Apply mask onto face. It's easier if you use a brush.
You wanna avoid places like your eyebrows and your hair line because turmeric prevents hair growth.

Leave it for about 30 minutes, and it usually dries up like a clay mask.
Wash the mask off with warm water.
While you're washing it off, you'll be able to feel the ground rice flour so gently scrub your face in circular motions.
Use a toner to tone your face as well as wipe away the yellow residue from the mask.
I use my Etude House's Wonder Pore Freshner and it does an amazing job.

Your face will still be slightly yellow after using this mask so I'd suggest doing this right before you sleep or at least when you know you're not gonna be going out.

REVIEW: Milkaholic Dessert and Breakfast Bar in Norwood, Adelaide

Cookie Monster Freakshake ($14.50)

Cookie & Cream thick shade with ice-cream and blended milk topped with a homemade gigantic chocolate-chip-gooey-fudge-cookie-vanilla-bean ice-cream sandwich!

I have to say, this tasted SO GOOD. That cookie will pretty much just melt in your mouth.

Raspberry Vegan Freakshake ($14.50)

Coconut milk, raspberry ink, eggless chocolate carob banana brownie and topped off with a toasted marshmallow.

My housemate ordered this, and frankly I don't like the sound of coconut milk with raspberries so I didn't try the drink.

However the brownie? AMAZING as well.

Moist, fudgey, gooey.. everything you'd want and need in a brownie.

S'MORES Kronut ($11.50)

Basically a kronut (cross between croissant and donut) which is layers of warm flaky pastry rolled in vanilla bean sugar.

To top that off, extra rich Callebaut Dutch chocolate sauce, double chocolate chip ice cream, toasted marshmallow and crumbled biscuit for added crunch.

The portion for this is just right for one person (at least for me it is)

Would definitely go back for this again!
