If you know me, you know I love matcha and all things matcha.
In case you didn't know, matcha is also another name for green tea.
So of course if there's place called Matcha House, you can bet I'll definitely try it out.

When you walk in, you immediately feel like you're in a Japanese home.
The lights are dimmed and there's a choice of traditional Japanese seating or normal seating

To be honest, the place isn't really that fancy. It's more authentic and homey.
Even their menus are pretty simple.
No designs, just the dessert/drink names, a short description and the price.

Honestly, can't tell you about this one, I apologize.
I didn't try this one because my roommate ordered it.

Matcha Frappe
For some reason, it's pronounced [fra-pee] and not [frep]. How do you guys pronounce it?
But in other words, ice-blended green tea.
It's not that bad, but I'll always choose Starbuck's Green Tea Frapp that I miss SO much.

Basically, hot milk and green tea.
With this drink, you only get a slight hint of the taste of green tea. It's clearly more milk than matcha.

And finally, here comes what I've been waiting for.
Don't know what a lava cake is? I'll show you!

That's a lava cake. Also known as a molten cake.
Now this. This is what I'm looking for walking into a place called Matcha House.
The cake is fluffy while still remaining moist.
The green tea taste isn't that strong but it's just enough to make me want to come back for more!

LOVE Matcha House's Matcha Lava Cake and will definitely be back for more.

  1. I've always been a fan of green tea and matcha. I wonder how diverse their menu actually is. Hopefully their menu is as profound as I would think it is.

    1. If by diverse you mean in terms of green tea alone, then yes. They've got different kinds of green teas.
