REVIEW: Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub
9:16:00 PM
So, I've actually got really dry & flaky lips no matter how much water I drink or how much I moisturize it. That ends up with itchy fingers & me peeling my flaky lips until it bleeds, which is really bad (not to mention, the lectures I get from my boyfriend for that).
One day, I just thought to myself.. Okay, this has got to stop!
I've been researching a lot about Lush not only because of its noticeable popularity when I touched down in Australia, but also that they're animal cruelty-free & use all natural ingredients.
There were 3 lip scrubs available ; Popcorn, Mint Julips & Bubblegum. As a mint-chocolate enthusiast, I decided to try Mint Julips.
Lush's Mint Julips Lip Scrub
Description:
"Mint chocolate (without the chip!) is what you get with this tasty sugar lip bugger"
It comes in a cute little glass jar that contains 0.8 oz (25g) of lip scrub.
Ingredients:
Castor Sugar - Helps to exfoliate lips by buffing dry cells and providing a smooth finish
Organic Jojoba Oil - Rich in vitamin E & B complex to restore moisture to lips and make it soft and smooth
Tagetes Oil - Has many properties like antiseptic, antimicrobial, antibiotic and many more so its very beneficial to having healthy lips
Peppermint Oil - Natural lip plumper
Vanilla Extract & Flavours - To add flavour to the lip scrub
Limonene - Has a sweet-lemon scent, occurs naturally in essential oils
There's usually a sticker at the bottom which tells you the manufacturing date and the expiring date. It lasts pretty long, so that's definitely a plus point.
All you have to do is take a little bit and rub it on your lips.
Simple.
Then you can choose to either wash it off, or lick it off (it tastes absolutely wonderful).
The first time I used it, I immediately noticed a difference in the condition of my lips, not only in appearance but in how it feels as well.
It looked and felt much more smooth and super soft!
You'd be amazed by how plump your lips look right after.
Its been a couple of months now since I first started using it, and my lips have never felt or looked better.
I've been using it every day and I still have loads left so it's definitely worth the price.
I would definitely repurchase this product if I actually manage to use it all up before it expires.
You can get it for $9.95 at your nearest Lush store or online at :
However, for those DIY enthusiasts or if you'd rather spend money on something else, there are many tutorials on making your own lip scrubs that are pretty simple.
If you've tried this product out, comment below and let me know what you think!
Till next time, happy readings everyone :)
FINAL VERDICT
Packaging: 8/10
Ease of use: 7/10
Effectiveness: 10/10
Affordability: 7/10
(just because it's really easy to make a DIY version of this)
